Art Classes

I teach college-level Realism to students who have the talent and desire to learn and grow in this field.

My forte is Portraiture and this will be the end goal for my students.  I start them off using charcoal pencils, beginning with some still life projects and then moving onto portraits.  After successfully achieving a solid grasp of this medium, we move onto pastels, once again practicing with still lifes, before moving onto portraits.  After achieving pastels, we move onto oils.  It's like building blocks so that my students don't get overwhelmed, but become very comfortable with these mediums and enjoy creating art!

We meet twice a month at the Studio, three hours for each lesson.  I also expect my students to do homework.  In between lessons, my students text me their progress for critiquing so that they can effectively continue with their homework until the following class.

The studio holds a maximum of nine students per class time.  If there is space we welcome students to come in and work on their projects for no extra charge.  Each student works independently on their own projects until they are frame-worthy, but I train them to effectively critique one another's projects in order for them to develop the "artist's eye."  When artists work together, we grow together and inspire one another.

FEE:  $120/month

Age:  12 years and older
